Ian is a consultant in pharmacology and lectures about pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. He is an expert on human ECG morphology and drug-induced ECG changes,
Ian was born and went to school in Scotland obtaining his B.Sc. at the University of Glasgow and his PhD, in pharmacology at the University of London.
He has worked in academic laboratories in the UK. and USA and has a broad set of skills in both drug discovery and drug development.
He holds Home Office project licences to conduct a wide range of experiments for cardiovascular, central nervous system and respiratory work.
He has experience of setting up a GLP compliant laboratory in England and in complying with the regulations of UK businesses and the regulatory scientific demands of international sponsors and clients.
His professional memberships include the British Pharmacological Society and the International Safety Pharmacological Society for which he was elected president in 2008.
He now lives in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, UK.and is a director of Pharmaceutical Early Development Consultancy Ltd.
